Tumee Hugginson

Clinical Director | MA | Couples Therapy • Trauma & Betrayal • Intensive Work
Languages: English, Japanese

Tumee Hugginson is the founder and clinical director of BeyondBleu. She works exclusively with couples who are no longer interested in surface-level conversation—and are ready to address what is actually shaping their relationship beneath the arguments, silences, and recurring patterns.
Licensed in clinical psychology in the United States and refined through many years of practice in Tokyo, Tumee brings together academic rigor, sharp relational insight, and a steady, grounding presence. She is trained through the Gottman Institute and integrates this evidence-based framework with attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and depth-oriented psychotherapy. Her work is precise and calm, marked by an ability to slow difficult moments without avoiding them, and to name what matters without escalating conflict.

Tumee is particularly sought out by couples navigating betrayal, infidelity, PTSD, and the aftermath of emotional rupture. Through her Couples Intensive Therapy, she offers a focused and contained space where long-standing dynamics can be examined and reorganized—often when traditional weekly therapy no longer feels sufficient. The work centers on restoring emotional safety, regulating nervous system reactivity, and helping partners speak honestly about pain, responsibility, loyalty, and repair.

She also offers select programs for pivotal relational moments, including premarital work, affair-recovery intensives, and consultations for new parents adjusting to the profound psychological shifts of early parenthood.
Her practice is especially well suited for cross-cultural and bilingual couples, expatriate relationships, and partnerships under sustained pressure from demanding careers, relocations, illness, or long-standing emotional distance. As someone in a binational marriage herself, Tumee brings both clinical expertise and lived understanding to the complexities of intimacy across cultures.
Beyond her clinical work, Tumee personally curates and supervises the BeyondBleu team, ensuring that every clinician reflects the practice’s defining values: depth, ethical clarity, and uncompromising human care.

Best suited for couples facing trauma, betrayal, or major relational turning points.

Martina Bottazzo

Psychologist | MA | Individual Therapy • Trauma-Informed CBT • Expat & Identity Work Languages: English, Italian, Japanese
Martina Bottazzo is a licensed psychologist whose work blends structure with sensitivity, offering clients both emotional safety and clear direction. Her approach is grounded in trauma-informed cognitive-behavioural therapy, thoughtfully integrated with relational and depth-oriented perspectives.
She works primarily with adults and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, chronic stress, and attachment-related difficulties. Martina has particular experience supporting clients affected by religious or spiritual trauma, and she pays close attention to how early environments shape patterns of autonomy, boundaries, and self-worth later in life.
Martina is currently a PhD candidate at Osaka University, where her research focuses on the long-term psychological impact of adverse childhood experiences in religious contexts. Alongside her academic work, she brings broad clinical experience across school, community, hospital, and telehealth settings.
Having lived abroad herself, Martina is especially attuned to the emotional and identity-related challenges faced by expatriates and individuals navigating multicultural lives. Her therapeutic space is inclusive, reflective, and grounded—supporting clients in making sense of their experiences and moving forward with greater agency.

Yoshihiro Odagiri

Counsellor | MA | Work & Identity • Career Transitions • Relational Dynamics in Professional Life Languages: English, Japanese
Yoshihiro Odagiri is a counsellor with over ten years of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan, from early childhood through adulthood. His work focuses on the psychological terrain where professional identity, personal values, and emotional life intersect—often under conditions of pressure, transition, or uncertainty.
He has particular experience working with individuals in organizational and business contexts, including career development and transition, workplace conflict, harassment and misconduct, leave-of-absence support, and other work-related psychological concerns. His approach is informed by an understanding of how professional environments shape emotional well-being, relationships, and self-concept over time.

Rather than relying on fixed techniques, he listens carefully to what is spoken and unspoken—words, emotions, silence, and relational dynamics. Although trained in multiple therapeutic models, he adapts his work moment by moment, moving at the client’s pace and respecting their readiness.
He places strong emphasis on the safety of the therapeutic relationship, believing that meaningful change emerges when clients feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported. His sessions offer a calm, reflective space in which clients can make sense of complex inner and professional experiences without pressure or judgment.
